+ Rest In Peace, Jamey Rodemeyer.
Jamey was only 14 years old before he took his own life on this past Sunday. Do you want to know why he killed himself?
Because he was different. That’s it.
This young boy, not even really experienced with what life really has to offer, was in so much pain that he thought the only way out was to take his own life.
Bullying. People. Kids. They all bullied him and no one listened. No one listened and it makes me sick to my stomach.
There are states who continue to think that bullying is NOT a major issue.
I think this is completely unacceptable. I think people need to realize that bullying is a serious issue. Jamey was so alone and so hopeless that he committed suicide. Friends and family are left to ponder what they did wrong. Countless other teens are dealing with this same issue.
Fag. Whore. Bitch. Retard. Fat. Slut. Gay. Stupid. Not good enough. Tramp.
Those words are thrown at some kids every day of their lives. Every day.
But there are still those few lawmakers who consider bullying as a “minute problem.”
Jamey didn’t think it was a minute problem.
Tyler Clementi didn’t think it was a minute problem.
Tell that to the mourning family. Tell them to their faces that bullying is not a big deal.
“No, Mr. and Mrs. Rodemeyer, bullying was not the reason for your son’s death. He just killed himself for attention.”
Find me the logic there. Find me some logic. Please.
Rest in peace, Jamey.
Rest in peace to everyone who is affected by suicide daily.
Rest in peace to all of us who aren’t good enough; to all of us who are called names and picked on simply for who we are.
Don’t expect help. The lawmakers of our generation don’t fucking care.
Because to them, bullying is a fantasy.
But they are bullying all of us.
