I know I’m a Klainer, and you’re a Kurtofskian, but you may be my new favorite person just for your mutual love of Mercedes and Kurtcedes. NoN was so OOC for Mercedes, and people ignore the fact that at the end she APOLOGIZED to her friends and went out on that stage to sing her heart out, fully expecting to NOT get what she wanted (which was the closing spot). How many times has Rachel stormed out, disrespected someone else’s talent, sat in a room with duct tape over her fucking mouth, etc. when she didn’t get her way with no apology? Mercedes has never done that. She is generally supportive of everyone having their right to shine. But the one or two times she gets fed up and goes off on someone, she’s a bitch and everything else but a child of God. Also, I’m REALLY over people talking about how “grateful” Mercedes should be to Rachel… every time I see that it rubs me the wrong way.
And don’t even get me started on Kurtcedes. I’m pretty sure they are dead. Now they are going to have Kurt and Rachel losing their fucking virginities (not to each other) together. I always pictured if, and when, Kurt or Mercedes took that step they would run to each other to tell. Now I’m pretty sure that’s not going to happen. It’s like everything I wanted for Kurtcedes has been ripped away from me in this season and given to hummelberry, and the sickest part is, I’m pretty sure it’s all just for that stupid spinoff (that I probably won’t watch). I mean even if they wanted to make Kurt and Rachel friends, there was no reason to just leave Mercedes assed out with no one but Shane in her corner. And last season, so many possible great Kurtcedes moments were thrown out.
I am able to put my Kurt shipping aside for a budding friendship, because my Mercedes stans are so few and far between, and it’s like you know my mind so.
I just. When I think of Kurtcedes I want to weep. I actually loved the Kurt/Rachel/Mercedes trio a lot! But, yet again, Mercedes got the blunt end of the stick and was just kicked aside and given shit plotlines, like every other time.
I just want my favorite friendship back. I love them so muhuhuhuuch.

I just feel like she’s getting SO MUCH unnecessary hate over this and people are forgetting who Rachel Berry is. Rachel gets EVERYTHING, hell she even has Kurt now. So I don’t blame Mercedes for feeling put out when like EVERYONE isn’t even taking her seriously for the lead. And people forget, RACHEL and KURT both consider themselves “Divas” too. Just because Mercedes doesn’t go overboard with her desire to succeed doesn’t mean she’s lazy. Rachel is a freaking overachiever. No one in the glee club is obsessive as her, and other people have complained about not getting solos.
Also, I could see people calling Mercedes lazy if Mr. Schue actually had tryouts for every competition and she just showed up and didn’t think she had to try out, but he literally just picks whoever his favorite is that day (and his favorites like never change), so I don’t see how it’s “lazy” or “entitled” of Mercedes to think she can just be handed a solo, Rachel is just handed solos all the time. ND needs to start having tryouts for competition solos and not just drawing names out of a hat.
You speak the truth, my friend. Allll of this. I mean, every time someone complains about Night of Neglect Divacedes, all I can think of is when Rachel left Glee hanging to be a star in Cabaret. She’s exhibited the same behaviour countless times yet is never scorned like Mercedes is.
Oh, and my Kurtcedes heart weeps over what’s been on display this season thus far.
ND in general isn’t fair for any of the ‘team players.’ *sigh*

Night of Neglect was an exaggerated aberration that was supposed to be so ridiculous it was funny; instead, people saw it as showing Mercedes’ “true” colors. She can’t win. But this right here is a fair reading of all that’s going on right now, def.
Although Ain’t No Way remains one of my favorites from Season 2, that episode in general just irritated me beyond belief. But I agree, she’s criticized way too harshly, people need to give her a break.

I don’t know you, but I think I love you. And…
I just have so many Mercedes feelings.

Come one, guys, Mercedes has every reason to be bitter. (As do other girls in Glee club, namely Tina. I would make the same argument if it were anyone else against Rachel)
What’s the reason, you ask? Well, up to 3x02, here’s the statistics for you:
Rachel Solos: 18
Duets? 25
Mercedes Solos: 10
Duets? 6
Not to mention, Rachel gets the lead in nearly every group number New Directions does.
So, that puts Mercedes at a grand total of 16 times in the spotlight, and Rachel at 43. Hmm, okay.
Okay, so tell me again why it’s okay for everyone to get pissed at MERCEDES when she complains about the Rachel Berry show? It’s completely in character and completely valid. We all know that from the start, Glee has been the Rachel Berry show, and that’s how it was pretty much intended. Don’t deny it. But it makes perfect sense for Mercedes to get angry every now and then for not having her share of the limelight.
However, I know I, for one, am really freaking sick of the Diva-Offs between Rachel and Mercedes. It’s overdone, and they’re beating a dead horse right about now.
BUT, I find no justification for everyone pulling the ‘angry, sassy diva’ card on Mercedes when Rachel gets EVERYTHING as far as glee club is concerned.
And though it was a nice gesture, Rachel giving up 3 of her 46 intended performances to Mercedes does not make her the perfect angel in my eyes.
Sorry, it doesn’t erase all the shit that has been put up with from Rachel. Yes, Rachel is a diva, too. And in my opinion, much more spoiled than Mercedes in a lot of aspects when the Glee club is concerned. (However, I hated Mercedes’ behaviour in Night of Neglect, that is one instance where I won’t defend Mercedes because I know she was wrong. - But then again, Rachel exhibits similar, though not as extreme, behaviour throughout the series)
So yes, I’m mad that there’s so much Mercedes hate in the fandom, and yes, I think Mercedes is justified in her annoyance.
Between spoilers for Asian F and The First Time, I’ve lost all hope in enjoying this season.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
There’s so much Mercedes hate in the fandom rn.
My bb giiirl. CREYS.
Have you read any of the spoilers or listened to the songs for next week’s ep?
And put together with the spoilers.
GUYS I AM NOT GOING TO LIKE THIS EPISODE.
MY MERCEDES CREYS.

I am a proud Pirate, and I can freely admit that Dave’s behavior in the three-episode arc from NBK to Furt reached completely unacceptable levels. (Pirates don’t claim that Dave was innocent: we know he was way out of line, we just don’t choose to write him off because of it.)
But there are things about Dave’s behavior in this arc that make me wonder.
The first is to wonder why Dave chose to handle things the way he did. After all, after NBK Kurt knew this huge secret about Dave. If someone has something on you that you don’t want them telling, why would you treat them worse and do all you can to make them hate you? How does that protect you?
The kneejerk answer seems to be that Dave thought it would scare Kurt into silence. The trouble with that theory is that during their talk in Figgins’ office in BTW, Dave asks him flat out, with real curiosity, why Kurt never made his life easier by telling people about Dave. So Dave knew not only that Kurt could have told, but that it was the easy way to stop the problems Dave was causing him.
And this ties into my second big question about Dave’s behavior in that three-episode arc: Why did every confrontation with Kurt after the kiss happen in public, with other people around?
Every single time Dave approached Kurt there were witnesses around. The cake topper scene - which I’m sure most people will agree is the pinnacle of his creepy, scary behavior - took place with Will Schuester ten feet away and watching. Dave never tried to get Kurt alone. He never waited around in some dark corner or shoved him into an empty classroom with no witnesses around.
Why did he say flat out in the principal’s office that maybe Kurt was making things up because he liked Dave? Why would he open the door so wide for Kurt to retaliate by telling the truth? He silently looked to Kurt every chance that Kurt was given to tell people the truth. And he looked to Kurt not in threat, but…just waiting. Wide-eyed, nervous, but not attempting to stop him from answering.
Here’s the obvious conclusion that these questions lead me to: Dave wants his secret to be revealed.
He is desperate to get it out. He’s working towards it every chance he gets, it seems. Whenever he is asked about Kurt he instantly brings up Kurt’s sexuality, focuses on it, obsesses, even though Finn has already pointed out that for a guy who’s never had a girlfriend his obsession with Kurt being gay seems to hint at something. In fact, he’s terrified for people to find out he’s gay but his first and only ‘relationship’ with a girl was playing beards with Santana, and he had to be blackmailed into that. That means he didn’t try to hide himself to the point of actually living a lie. (And he’s a football player, Prom King, Duke Stud, he could have snapped his finger and had a dozen girls wanting to play queen to his king. He could have had girlfriends, he just didn’t.)
The more I think about the whole arc, the more obvious it seems: Dave is doing everything he possibly can to get the truth out there, short of actually saying the words himself. He’s scared, yeah, we know that. He’s too scared to take that final step himself. Instead he does everything he can to make Kurt say it for him, or make people put it together themselves.
I love Kurt - he’s got flaws but he’s an amazingly strong kid. He doesn’t believe in outing people, and he stands by what he believes to the point of leaving school rather than calling Dave out for what he is. I think that Dave realized that eventually. He accepted sometime around BTW that Kurt wasn’t going to be his scapegoat, and I think a lot of his real remorse came from realizing just how badly he crossed a line hoping for Kurt to do his dirty work for him.
It makes me want Dave to figure himself out in season three. I hope he finds the courage to come out on his own, without waiting for someone else to out him. I may want to see Kurtofsky, or Blainofsky, or Happinessofsky, but you know what I want more? I want to meet the kid that Dave’s father talked about during BTW. I want to know who Dave is when he’s not drowning under his secret and the extreme ways he chose to deal with it.
Judging by his actions in the episodes after BTW, I get the feeling that’s what Dave wants, too.
